On Saturday, September 17, 2011, this pitiful pup was picked up from the side of the road and was given to us. He was not only starving, he had a prolapsed intestine, making him unable to take in or pass food. He had emergency surgery on the following Monday. We are happy to say that Roadie is now well on his way to recovery, but the job is not done. His vet bills cost over $1,300 and will continue to rise as he gets check-ups or if he needs any more critical care. Puppy Hill Farm is dedicated to give this sweet and loving little guy the good life he deserves.

Roadie was found on the side of the road and had to have major surgery to save his life

Roadie was severely emaciated. Surgery saved his life, but we need your help.

Roadie is such a sweet boy and deserves a chance for a good life

UPDATE: Thursday, September 22, 2011

He had emergency surgery on Monday, and while his condition is still guarded, he has done well so far and is now starting to eat small amounts. Please help him through his lengthy recovery by clicking on the Donate button. Thank you for your help and we hope that Roadie is able to look for his forever home soon!

UPDATE:  Friday, September 23, 2011

He was playing in the vet's office last night as they were closing up! He goes so submissive and loves belly rubs. Dr. White is being cautious about his prognosis, but it is looking better and better. He had 1 blood transfusion during his surgery, but is still pale and therefore still in a very critical condition. Keep pulling for him! And please help us, his medical bills are close to $1000 now. We are committed to seeing him through this, but that means there are several more animals that we will not be able to take from the animal shelters in the next few months. Please donate so that we can continue to save lives!

UPDATE:  Thursday, September 29, 2011

Roadie continues to improve and is now home from the vets office. He has a way to go for recovery, but he has survived a truly near death experience. Thanks to Dr. White and her staff at Springlake Animal Hospital for helping him through a tough time. His vet bills are quite substantial- we thank those of you who have been able to help him get through this. We will keep updating his recovery photos and hopefully he will be ready for adoption soon!

UPDATE:  Thursday, October 6, 2011

He was back at the vet for a few more days this past week but is back home again and is doing well. His sutures from his extensive surgery have been removed and he is acting like a big, happy, healthy puppy! He should be ready to be neutered soon. Thanks everyone for all your help. We are still gladly accepting donations for his care.

UPDATE:  Wednesday, October 12, 2011

His prognosis is great! He will be neutered next week and should be ready for a new home! As far as we know, this should not cause him any complications over time. He is one lucky dog!  The credit goes to our vet, Dr. White at Springlake Animal Hospital in Keystone Heights. She dropped everything that day to work on saving Roadie's life. At one point, she was close to calling to get permission to euthanize, but she didn't give up! For which we are all very grateful indeed.
